Through a bold move for the franchise. SEGA is launching a brand new branch for the Sonic universe called Sonic Boom with a brand new CG animated television show, a video game for Nintendo systems, a line of toys made by TOMY, and redesigns to beloved characters.
Sonic Boom the television show will debut on Cartoon Network in North America in the Fall 2014 while the rest of the world will have it in 2015. To tie-in the television show, SEGA with Western developers Big Red Button Entertainment and(Wii U) Sanzaru Games (3DS) will be having a prequel to the show in the form of a video game simply called Sonic Boom. The game is a part of an exclusive deal with Nintendo to have Sonic games exclusive to their systems. Sonic Boom the game will introduce exploration, combat and a new Enerbeam tether mechanic that will make the world of Sonic Boom to be discovered in many unique ways.
