The Elder Scrolls Online creative director quits

Recently Gearbox advertised new positions available at their studio, as you can see in the above image. It is no secret that The Elder Scrolls Online has had a very underwhelming reception. Today, Paul Sage, former creative director of The Elder Scrolls Online has joined Nicholas Konkle in the list of people who have departed the team, Konkle left to join League of Legends developer, Riot Games.

This doesn’t mean that The Elder Scrolls Online is suddenly going to collapse or shut down, however it is a very discouraging sign for the MMO that recently debuted in consoles and went free-to-play.

Although seeing The Elder Scrolls Online getting updated seems like a good sign. You can watch the video below and get a look at Imperial City, the fallen capital of Tamriel, and Orsinium, Realm of the Orcs, as well as glimpses of several other locations both in the overworld and below ground of The Elder Scrolls Online.

It is unclear on whether Paul Sage is going to work on Borderlands 3 or any other project Gearbox is developing, either way, this could mean more MMO elements for Borderlands 3 and future Gearbox projects. It is also unclear if the reception of The Elder Scrolls Online had anything to do with his decision.
