Terraria is coming to 3DS and Wii U next year

Re-Logic’s announced that their 2D-platforming-sandbox title, Terraria, will be getting a retail release on both the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, with both versions offering touch-screen support for easier “crafting” and inventory access. The handheld edition has four-player local play, while the Wii U version will allow four players to use the same screen (with some using Wii Remotes). The home version also boasts an eight player online mode, too.

Initially it was leaked by an Amazon listing, which shows the price to be 30 dollars. The lead developer at Re-Logic confirmed the release on her official Terraria website profile:
“Terraria is indeed coming to Wii U and 3DS.”
Those attending Gamescom will have the opportunity to get hands-on with the 3DS version by visiting the Nintendo booth at the show.

The bad news is that the publisher doesn’t anticipate a release until “early 2016”, which feels like an awful long time for Nintendo Loyalists. Terraria has already been released on almost every other platform: PC, PS3, PSN, Xbox 360, XBLA, PS Vita, Windows Phone, Amazon, iOS, PS4, Xbox One, and Kindle Fire.
