Raspberry Pi 3 is on sale now!

On the fourth anniversary of the Raspberry Pi, the third iteration has been released and it’s currently on sale for 35$ (same price as the Raspberry Pi 2) featuring a nice clock boost.

The Raspberry Pi 3 features a A custom-hardened 1.2GHz 64-bit quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 which is considerably more powerful than the old 900Mhz 32-bit processor of the old model, boasting a 33 percent increase in clock speed and up to 60 percent increase in performance due to it’s 64-bit architecture.

The Raspberry Pi 3 comes with integrated 802.11n wireless LAN and Bluetooth 4.1 support, and has complete compatibility with the first two models. It also features:
Quad Core CPU

1GB RAM

40 GPIO Pins

Ethernet Port

4x USB Ports

4 Pole Stereo Output

HDMI Port

Micro SD Card Slot

The Raspberry Pi is such a cheap yet well made device that can be used for gaming and as a HTPC.

At launch, the Pi 3 will be using the same 32-bit Raspbian userland (OS) that is currently in use on the other Raspberry Pi devices, but over the next few months the company will investigate whether it will be worth moving to a 64-bit mode.

The Raspberry Pi 1 and 2 will still be on sale for $20 and $35 respectively.
