If you are interested in testing out Sony’s Gaikai-based game streaming service, PlayStation Now, you can register for the closed beta as of this moment by following this link. The beta is available only to the US.PlayStation Now will enable consumers to stream legacy PS1, PS2, and PS3 games on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and all 2014 Sony Bravia TV models this summer. Sony has stated you will be able to play games on non-PlayStation hardware in the future. Details on exactly which non-PlayStation hardware will be able to stream games through PlayStation Now are expected to be released after the service rolls out to the US this summer.
The service, announced this week at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show, will throw out Sony’s previous practice of limiting their first party PlayStation exclusives to proprietary hardware and expands the PlayStation brad to become a service in the likes of Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, etc.
