Body freedom activist Gameli Anumu was attacked, brutalized by police, and arrested at the nudity ban protest in San Francisco on February 1st – 2014. Three other nudist activists, George Davis, Jaymz Smith and Gypsy Taub, were also arrested. The SFPD was supposed to leave them alone at a protest because protests are protected by the 1st amendment. The activists will be suing the SFPD.

Contrary to the belief of the activists, it is illegal to be nude in public without a parade license in the city of San Francisco. It was deemed so by a December 2012 ban on public nudity. The issue here is not, as the nudist activists claim, that the cops failed to obey the law. The cops were following exactly what the law told them to do. Furthermore, Gypsy and Jaymz weren’t as covered as they thought they were. All Gypsy had on was a strap-on and Jaymz had something that resembled a loincloth.
