Sacred 3 is an arcade Hack ‘n’ Slash game for up to four players, set in the war for Ancaria. Choose from legendary heroes and fight together against the rise of evil. You will face hordes of grimmocs, brute beasts, legions of mercenaries and undead wizards. Develop your character’s skills and abilities and band together to use powerful co-op abilities and tactics. Victory is Ours. Glory is Mine.
Sacred 3 will be, as the name suggests it, the third full game in the Sacred video game series. Deep Silver, which acquired the license to Sacred 3 from former development studio Ascaron Entertainment, announced at Gamescom that the earliest it could publish the game would be in early 2012.
A side-scrolling action brawler called Sacred Citadel will act as a prequel to the Sacred 3 story and released in 2013 to XBLA, PSN and Steam and developed by Southend Interactive.
[alert type=”blue”]For those of you who don’t know, the Sacred series is a hack and slash RPG series reminiscent of Diablo. You defeat enemies while at the same time collecting the loot that they drop, and earn XP to better your character.[/alert]
There will be a variety of classes to choose from but those from Sacred 2: Fallen Angel will not return. They have been replaced by the Safiri Warrior and Ancarian Lancer. Some of the environments from the previous game will make a return such as Castle Braverock.
Sacred 3 will have four player co-op on at all times, even if the player is not connected to the Internet. Instead they’ll have a trio of A.I. allies fighting alongside them. Each ally has his or her own distinct set of active and passive skills. Everyone has a small number of abilities to equip at a time to keep the team from getting overpowered and may allow the combining of team powers to give the player additional ways to take down foes.
Sacred 3 will be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 in North America on August 5, 2014 and August 1, 2014 for the European Union.
