You ever had the thought of just wanting to buy someone’s modifications on popular games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on Steam?
Well your prayers have just been answer by Valve as they added in the option for paid mods as a means of ‘introducing new ways to support workshop creators.’ The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be the first game on Steam to support this option with more games to follow in the future.
While modders will have the option to release their mods for whatever price after going though a tax interview and providing their bank account, it’s optional to still release them for free on service. Buyers who are not satisfied with their purchase on a mod can request a refund within 24 hours.
Modders will only receive 25 percent of any payments of their mods with the remaining 75 percent going to organizations, users, and toolmakers like Nexus Mods to Polycount.
As of press time, only 19 paid mods are available to purchase for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim right now. Expect popular Steam Workshop games like Team Fortress 2 to have paid mods in the coming weeks.
More info on all things Steam related will be posted here in Stagger’d, so stay tuned!
