About Cashmere Cat
Magnus August Høiberg (born November 29, 1987), best known under the artist name Cashmere Cat, is a Norwegian musician, producer and DJ and turntablist (representing Norway in the DMC World DJ Championships as DJ FINAL 2006–09). He appeared on the international electronic dance music scene in 2012, with remixes and edits of songs by Lana Del Rey, 2 Chainz and Jeremih.
Cashmere Cat’s debut EP Mirror Maru was released in October 2012 on the Belgian Pelican Fly label. Cashmere Cat’s take on R&B, futuristic hip-hop and bass music gained support from electronic music notables such as Hudson Mohawke, Rustie and Gilles Peterson. The EP’s title track, “Mirror Maru”, was included on the Grand Theft Auto V soundtrack in 2013.
