As was reported on January, Club Nintendo will be no more, the service will close down in order to make room for a new service due to open this fall. You have until 11:59pm Pacific on 30th June to use whatever leftover coins you may have. Despite it’s flaws, Club Nintendo will be missed.
In PAL territories, such as Europe and Australia, the service will remain open until September 30th. In fact, a Captain Toad figurine lamp was added to those countries today. Unfortunately, due to whatever reason Nintendo of America couldn’t secure this reward for the North American Club Nintendo users.
The North American Club Nintendo catalogue is comprised solely of downloadable games. From 11:59pm Pacific time on 30th June (02:59am Eastern on 1st July) gamers in North America will not be able to spend any Club Nintendo coins. The Club Nintendo program will be shut down.
There are some excellent games still available for download, including some retail games, so if you’re in North America and have any Club Nintendo coins left you should try and spend them right away – the clock is ticking.
You can check the available Club Nintendo catalogue here.
Hopefully the next service that replaces it will allow users from Latin American countries to be part of it, as those users don’t have access to neither the Club Nintendo service or the Eshop service.
