With the immense amount of game engines available to the public, it’s no wonder we see projects attempting to recreate fully or partially the classic games that we all have come to love, there have been many recently recreating characters and stages from Shenmue and some parts of World Of Warcraft on Unreal Engine 4, one of the most notable projects has been to recreate Super Mario 64 on Unity, and now it’s the turn for Resident Evil 2 to get the fan-remaster treatment.

Italian “indie software warehouse” InvaderGames is recreating the entirety of Resident Evil 2 in the engine. The not-for-profit project will be free to the public later this season. The Studio has revamped textures, scripts, sound effects and animations, among other things. It seems they will beat Capcom to it, as there is no word of a Resident Evil 2 HD yet, despite the good reception of the first one. Although an official remake of Resident Evil 2 seems very likely.
