As announced last Friday in a forum made by Team Dakota, Microsoft Studios’ game creation Project Spark has been discontuined from the Xbox Marketplace and Windows Store as a means of preparing to discontinued the servers for existing users after August 12, 2016. That means existing users will need to download any user-generated content or upload their own before the shutdown. Players wanting to download any user-generated content beyond August 12, 2016 are out of luck as they need to download any user-generated content prior to the shutdown date, so for anyone that wants to experience what Project Spark is all about, you might want to download some content.
As stated by the forum post, members of Project Spark have moved on to other projects inside Microsoft Studios as a means to avoid any layoffs and that with no team behind the scenes to keep the game up and running, support for Project Spark will cease by fall of this year. More details of the shutdown are available here in Project Spark’s website.
