With Sony’s revel on it’s next generation PlayStation console as of last week, many gamers wonder what Microsoft might have in store for their next Xbox console. Will Microsoft might be going into a bold direction into what they are doing with the next gen Xbox through a interview. In a recent inteview with MCV, Eidos president, Ian Livingstone talks about how the possibility of retail games being abandoned in favor of digital distribution might not come until the next iteration of home consoles and that the generation of PS4 and next Xbox might be the last generation to have traditional disc to play games. He also adding that Microsoft might take a bold supposed step with it’s next gen Xbox. “With the next Xbox, you supposedly have to have an internet connection, and the discs are watermarked, whereby once played on one console it won’t play on another. So I think the generation after that will be digital-only.” Microsoft supposedly will be hosting an event this spring to talk about it’s next generation plans.

I welcome the idea of digital content. In fact, most of the games have been purchased via Xbox LIVE. However, I think some people appreciate having physical copies of their games. Sometimes I’m one of these people. When a game any of my favorite series comes out, I want to have a physical copy of the game with me, Anyone else feels the same?
