Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment announced the next Batman game as Batman: Arkham Origins, and it will be a prequel to the critical acclaim Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. Batman: Arkham Origins will be out on October 25 for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC. The game is being developed by Warner Bros. Montreal instead of Rocksteady Studios who did the two Arkham games. Also in development is Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, a handheld 2.5D Metroid-style game that will be release on the same day for 3DS and Vita, being develop by Armature Studios, the development house led by ex-Retro staffers who worked on Metroid Prime.
The game will take place chronologically before Arkham City and Arkham Asylum and will focus on a “young, unrefined’ Batman as he battles many of his foes for the first time.
