Announced on Sony’s pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference, the company revealed a brand new model for the PS Vita. The redesign was made to be “a more casual and easier to use model”, one that is 20% thinner, 15% lighter, and comes in 6 different colors. The model is more “affordable”, packing a 5 inch LCD display in lieu of an OLED screen. Battery life has also been increased by an hour. It also has built-in storage, albeit only 1 gig’s worth so if you want, you might want to get the 64GB memory card for 9,980 yen ($100) if your in Japan.
The new PS Vita model will be available in 6 different colors on October 10th in Japan for 18,980 Yen ($190), It’s unknown if the redesign model will be having an international release at this time.
