Nintendo Power is Dead

Nintendo Power is Dead

The very first issue of Nintendo Power in the summer of 1988 Nintendo of America. In the winter of 2007, issue #222 was the first published by Future US. Two days ago on December 10th, 2012, the very last issue of Nintendo Power was released. It was a sad day in gaming history.

From the very beginning, Nintendo Power focused heavily on providing game strategy, tips and tricks, reviews, and previews of upcoming games. Seeing as the magazine enjoyed twenty years of Nintendo-directed publication, NP was the ultimate source for detailed mapping and insider knowledge delivered directly from the programming teams. As a result, the magazine enjoyed the reputation of being the definitive source for all things Nintendo, separating itself from a more traditionally speculative approach as used by its contemporaries.

Overall, the magazine was one of the longest-running game-oriented magazines and remained financially successful while in circulation.
