Through rumors surfacing back in February of this year, Activision officially confirmed the reveal of a brand new Guitar Hero game, with the last game being released five years ago. The game called Guitar Hero Live will bring ”big innovation” to the franchise, evident though it’s presentation and the game’s guitar controller.

The biggest change to Guitar Hero Live is it’s presentation to the player being in a fictional rockband, no longer just seeing them on stage while playing. This time however, players will have an important role as their performance will effect on the crowd and band’s perception towards you. If you perform good, the crowd and your band are happy and having a good time. But if you’re doing poorly, not only will the crowd boo you, you’re band mates will also get mad at you.

This change according to Jamie Jackson, the creative director of Guitar Hero Live to IGN, absorbs the player in being a part of the action like how Call of Duty done in first-person.

“Previously you’d always look towards the stage, you’d always looked at the band – this third-person view of the character you’d selected. We said, ‘Why don’t we turn the camera around and look out at the crowd and position you on the stage, and make it first-person like Call of Duty has done and make you a part of the action, and apply that to this game?”

Just a guy that is friendly and loves his video games to death. :3

  1. I remember having a great time while being drunk and playing Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock in 2008.
