According to a report on The Southeast Texas Record, Nintendo of America Inc. and Nintendo Co. Ltd. are engaged in a lawsuit over Secure Axcess on Wii U patents being infringed.
The Wii U patent is allegedly infringing over a patent filed in 2000 and published in 2003 for a ”multiscreen personal computer display method and apparatus.’‘ This means a computer that displays images on more than one screen. The Wii U GamePad supposedly infringes on the patent for it’s second screen experience.
Secure Axcess is also suing retailers such as GameStop, Target, Amazon and Best Buy for selling the system “without license or authorization” as a means of seeking compensatory damages, costs, interest, etc.
