Square Enix unveiled a lot of new info on the new Dissidia game in it’s Dissidia Final Fantasy Closed Conference 2015 today.
The game will be developed by Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja in collaboration with Square Enix. It’s also been revealed that the PlayStation 4 is core hardware for the game’s development. This is evident as Sony Computer Entertainment Japan president Atsushi Morita showed up in the conference and expressed interest in bringing it to home consoles. Square Enix producer Ichiro Hazama said that the publisher will keep it exclusive to Japanese arcades for a one year time period.
The confirmed roster so far includes: Warrior of Light (Final Fantasy), Onion Knight (Final Fantasy II), Terra Branford (Final Fantasy VI), Cloud Strife (Final Fantasy VII), Lighting (Final Fantasy XIII), and Y’Shtola (Final Fantasy XIV). Ramza Beoulve (Final Fantasy Tactics) is confirmed to be in the game in a later update with 50+ characters being planned for the final product.
Dissidia Final Fantasy (Arcade) is set for a fall 2015 release in Japan with a PlayStation 4 version not confirmed as of this moment.
