The public face of Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Don Mattrick leaves Microsoft to become CEO of Zynga and sits on Zynga’s Board of Directors. Both positions take effect next Monday, July 8, 2013.
“I joined Zynga because I believe that Mark Pincus, (founder and former CEO of Zynga) pioneering vision and mission to connect the world through games is just getting started,” said Mattrick. “Zynga is a great business that has yet to realize its full potential.”
Don Mattrick’s position in the company will temporarily be held by CEO of Microsoft Steve Ballmer.
