During this year’s EVO tournament, Double Helix and Mad Catz came out on stage to do a 3-match presentation on the new and upcoming Killer Instinct game exclusively for the Xbox One and the reaction to it was not a pleasant sight to behold.

Marvel!” in a way of saying they wanted to see Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 then Killer Instinct and it didn’t help with the representatives mentioning Xbox One at the end of the presentation with responses of outraged and boos ensuing a long stretch of time. From the looks on the representatives’ faces they were clearly embarrassed, and you couldn’t help but feel sorry for them. It was really something to watch the effects of how Microsoft damage of the Xbox One and Killer Instinct’s image, and it’s sad to see a potentiality good game like Killer Instinct to get batted because of it.

As a huge fan of the original Killer Instinct, I feel sorry for the developement team as they have to suffer for Microsofts mess ups.
Then again maybe they deserve it as many a fighting game fan such as myself has really wanted a reboot of the series only to see it tagged with an exclusive headline. My love for the series isn’t strong enough to warrant me to buy a system just for it.
Their loss.

You do know that either way, Killer Instinct would have stay exclusive to Xbox with Microsoft owning Rare right?
