Remember the news that Microsoft had a patent on earning achievements by watching television shows? Well it’s been confirmed by Yusuf Mehdi through Shack News that the Xbox One will not only allow users to earn achievements though playing games, they can also earn achievements just by watching TV shows through linking their cable box on the Xbox One’s HDMI input.
“We’re going to have more achievements for media experiences in general,” Xbox’s Yusuf Mehdi told Shack News. “You’re going to see more of in a lot of different places.”
These TV achievements as demonstrate through the header image above will have time-based “challenges” that will encourage users to watch a specific show like Beta in Amazon Video.
