Here’s a rundown on the latest Nintendo 3DS Direct of 9.01.16 with some 3DS news, listed below.
- Alola form of Rattatta and special Munchlax for fans who buy either Pokémon Sun and Moon before January 11th of next year.
- Super Mario Maker coming to the Nintendo 3DS as Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS, with all the tools in creating Mario courses from the original Wii U version. New feature added in this version of Mario Marker is being able to create courses with friend through local co-op. Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS will hit store shelves on December 2nd, 2016.
- New trailer showing off modes like Toad Scramble for Mario Party: Star Rush, coming to the Nintendo 3DS on November 4th.
- New update coming to Animal Crossing: New Leaf this fall that will expand amiibo functionally with the Animal Crossing figures and cards. 50 brand new amiibo cards for Animal Crossing will hit store shelves on December 2nd, along with a new version of New Leaf called Animal Crossing: New Leaf Welcome amiibo!, which includes the update and an amiibo card. Nintendo also announces a Animal Crossing-themed Mini-Direct this fall.

- Nintendo has release a StreetPass Mii Plaza update today that adds Quick Plaza in streamlining StreetPass. Premium members can now hold up to 100 encountered players’ Mii instead of 10 and five new StreetPass games have been released for $2.99 each. Anybody that updates StreetPass will have the option in choosing either Slot Car Rivals or Market Crashers for free, while the four other games will be available in a special discounted bundle for just $8.99.
- Nintendo announcing a brand new 3DS eShop exclusive title called Tank Troopers, will be available this winter.

- Launch trailer for the 3DS eShop exclusive title, Picross 3D: Round 2. The game is now available to download.
In celebration to 30 years, here’s a sample of products on the way for The Legend of Zelda including:
• The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword releasing in the Nintendo eShop for Wii U today.
• Four special amiibo figures: 8-Bit Link, Ocarina of Time Link and a two-pack that includes both Toon Link and Zelda from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker this Holiday season.
• The original game that launched the Zelda franchise will be included when the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition launches on Nov. 11.
- DLC Pack 3 titled Phantom Hourglass & Spirit Tracks Pack ($6.99) for Hyrule Warriors Legends is available to purchase on the 3DS eShop today.
- Yoshi’s Woolly World hitting the Nintendo 3DS as Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World with all the content from the original Wii U version plus brand new levels on Poochy, Yoshi pet. Along with the 3DS version hitting stores is a Yarn Poochy amiibo on February 3rd, 2017.
- An overview on the upcoming Nintendo 3DS exclusive, Ever Oasis. This action-adventure RPG is set to release sometime worldwide in 2017.

- A brand new 5 sports compilation called Mario Sports: Super Stars. This compilation will include full-fledged versions of baseball, tennis, golf, horse racing and 11-on-11 soccer games, with local and online multiplayer. Mario Sports: Super Stars is set to release exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS in Spring 2017.
- A new Pikmin for the Nintendo 3DS is unlike past Pikmin games on home consoles. This side-scrolling adventure game will have Olimar and Pikmins in overcoming anything that stands in their way. Pikmin for Nintendo 3DS (name not final) is scheduled to launch in 2017.
